Biden said he is willing to drop the filibuster temporarily in order to pass the voting rights bill and the stimulus package but worried he would lose people if he uses this tactic on the stimulus package. The $600 provision that allows the IRS to spy on American’s bank accounts might be eliminated or increased to $10,000. This drew a lot of criticism because people couldn’t figure out how spying on average people made sure billionaires don’t cheat on taxes. Democrat strategist Eddie Vale said this is a make or break moment for Biden’s presidency. If democrats control all three areas of the government and can’t pass Biden’s agenda then either the agenda is wrong or the party is incapable. Nancy Pelosi says democrats are within striking distance of getting this deal done.
